 Acie Benjamine Houk was
 born in the aftermath of
 the civil war in central
 Missouri and from the records
 I have he spent his entire 
 life there. 

 As it turns out he lived
 near others with names that
 pop up in the family tree
 like the McDaniels, the
 Williamsons and the
 Zimmermans. Because of
 this I was getting side
 tracked everytime I got 
 started on this page. 

 A photo of his tombstone

Acie seems to have had all his children with 1st wife Christina. They lived in Linn until she died of a heart attack in the fall of 1922.
It was a year and a half before Acie married 2nd wife Bessie Portwood. in Moniteau Co. Missouri. She was the widow of George W Portwood her maiden name was williams.
The records do not shed any light on the fate of Bessie, but in 1937 Acie married Ella Jane Murray Peters.
